SARDINIAN FOOD is an earthy mix of bold flavors inspired by the local landscape and the islands strategic position in the mediterranean

La Casa Sarda

The Sardinian House

The culinary traditions have their roots splayed out between mainland Italy, north Africa and of course the surrounding seas.  If you love Italian food (who doesn’t) then you’re in familiar territory, but dare to venture away from pizza and lasagne and you’ll be rewarded with an abundance of local, seasonal food, always organic and prepared using traditional recipes and methods handed down from generations of passionate Sardinian cooks.

As well as great food the island has many outstanding grape varieties used in the making of wines such as the rich and bold red Carignano and the earthy, crisp and fruity white Vermentino to name just two.  We keep a small cellar laden with our favourite bottled wines for you to experience as well as always having a carafe or two of local red and white wines available.

No Sardinian meal (or any occasion it seems) is complete without a small glass of liqueur, the favorite of the island is Mirto, made from the Myrtle bushes which populate much of the landscape.  Here at La Casa Sarda we prepare our own, as well as having a selection of Limoncello and Grappas available.
